What you’ll Do:

The Financial Accountant supports Teckro’s month-end close process, financial reporting, budgeting, audit preparation, and continuous process improvement. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, a high level of accuracy, and excellent analytical capability.

Key Responsibilities:

Month-End Close and Reporting

  • Prepare and post monthly journals (revenue, accruals, prepayments, payroll, depreciation, adjustments).
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely follow‑up on variances.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
  • Provide commentary and analysis on variances versus budget and forecast.

Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Analysis

  • Assist the Head of Finance in preparing annual budgets and periodic reforecasts.
  • Build and maintain supporting schedules for budgeting and cost analysis.
  • Analyse actual performance versus budget, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Assist with modelling scenarios and providing financial insights for decision-making.

Revenue Recognition (ASC 606 and SaaS Model)

  • Work with the AR Specialist to ensure accurate contract data in NetSuite, including revenue start and end dates.
  • Support correct application of ASC 606 for SaaS subscriptions and professional services.
  • Prepare deferred revenue reconciliations and analyse revenue-related movements.
  • Support reporting of SaaS metrics and revenue KPIs.

Technical Accounting (US GAAP and Irish GAAP)

  • Support accounting and reporting compliant with US GAAP and Irish GAAP.
  • Assist with technical accounting analysis and documentation relating to contracts, revenue, and other key areas.
  • Contribute to maintaining strong internal controls and accounting best practices.

Audit, Tax and Compliance

  • Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
  • Assist with VAT, payroll tax submissions, and corporation tax support packages.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of internal controls and compliance processes.

Accounts Payable, Payroll and Cost Control

  • Review month-end AP and payroll schedules prepared by the Senior AP and Payroll Specialist.
  • Assist with expense classification, spend analysis, and departmental reporting.
  • Support improvement of cost tracking and reporting processes across the business.

Sustainability and ESG Reporting

  • Assist the Head of Finance prepare and maintain Teckro’s sustainability related data.
  • Maintaining accurate year‑over‑year sustainability metrics. Keeping sustainability related financial data complete in Greenly and collecting data from internal teams for energy use, travel, procurement etc…
  • Ensuring data accuracy for carbon footprint calculations
  • Supporting questionnaire responses and evidence gathering for Teckro’s EcoVadis and CDP submissions.

Systems, Reporting and Process Improvements

  • Use advanced Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, PowerQuery an advantage) to enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Support enhancements to NetSuite including reporting, dashboards, workflows, and process optimisation.
  • Contribute to automation projects, systems integrations, and improvements in financial processes.

Experience Required:

Essential

  • Qualified accountant or Finalist (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • 4+ years of finance or accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and month-end processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Strong analytical ability, with the capacity to work with complex data sets.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced SME/SaaS environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, Irish GAAP (FRS 102), and ASC 606.
  • Exposure to SaaS or subscription-based business models.
  • Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles.

Qualifications Required:

  • Professional accounting accreditation (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Degree in related field(s); or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education.

Location and Travel:

  • Remote based - Required to travel to Dublin office once per month.
  • Our Dublin City Centre offices are located less than 3 mins for Pearse St Dart Station and beside the Alex Hotel, making it accessible for all major transport.
  • We also offer flexible start/ end times, allowing your schedule to suit your lifestyle
