About MOMA Therapeutics
MOMA Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on developing inhibitors of highly dynamic proteins, namely ATPases, which play critical roles in a variety of Oncology indications. Our platform allows us to successfully prosecute drug discovery against difficult and unprecedented targets which are core cancer dependencies. MOMA is planning to initiate clinical development for two programs in 2024 and is seeking a Head of Clinical Development to plan and lead these first-in-human proof-of-concept studies.
In this role you will…
You will be responsible for the design and execution of early-stage clinical development strategies, spanning from pre-IND and first in patient through registration enabling studies.
As a results-oriented, roll-up your sleeves person, you are committed to nurturing a positive and productive work environment that will attract and retain highly qualified clinical development professionals. Leading by example, you will mentor and guide a development team ensuring the successful execution of multiple clinical trials.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and Influence Clinical Development
- Lead strategy and shape protocols for novel therapeutics entering clinical development
- Collaborate with external experts in oncology to drive innovation in clinical development and maximize scientific quality in design, execution, reporting, and publication.
- Ensure the highest level of rigor and scientific integrity of clinical programs and protocols.
- Identify and escalate issues in a timely manner as appropriate.
- Manage risk management and safety planning and assessment for product.
- Maintain an understanding of competitors and clinical developments in relevant therapeutic areas by attending scientific meetings, maintaining relationships with KOLs, and tracking literature and proactively communicate issues of high priority related to MOMA’s clinical trials.
- Build and manage a high performing clinical development team and effectively manage cost to budget. Work with multi-disciplinary teams to support data analysis, reporting, and publishing for clinical trials.
- Develop collaborative relationships with research, CMC, and business development stakeholders.
- Drive strategy and planning for publications and conduct presentations of research milestones.
- Oversee trial-related advisory boards and investigator meetings.
- Represent MOMA at critical regulatory interactions.
- Contribute to authorship, review, and approval of other key documents, including investigator brochures and INDs/CTAs as well as co-authored publications in scientific journals as needed.
About you…
- MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent with training and board certification in Medical Oncology
- 5+ years of experience in oncology development within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, focused on both early stage development in oncology.
- Strong leadership skills and proven biopharmaceutical industry experience
- Accomplished at leading a clinical development team to success. Able to inspire and stimulate creativity in a team environment.
- Successful at collaborating cross-departmentally within an organization and at developing collaborations with academic and industrial partners.
- Strong working knowledge of oncology and cancer biology and its relationship to drug development.
- Knowledge of the drug development continuum
- Knowledge of related disciplines (biostatistics, regulatory, pre-clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences).
- Demonstrated scientific productivity (publications, abstracts, etc.).
- Solid communication skills with experience in presenting to a variety of audiences (internal teams, Board of Directors, medical and scientific communities).
- Experience in managing budgets and making strategic decisions.
- Effective at negotiating, influencing, and exercising your interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Proven business acumen with strong project, financial, and operational management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to advocate for a position and engage in vigorous debate to reach the best decision.
