Location: US Remote This is a broad finance seat anchored in billing and revenue reporting to the VP of Finance. Your core responsibility is owning billing and accounts receivable end to end, including getting invoices out accurately and on time, managing collections, resolving billing questions, and running monthly revenue accounting under ASC 606. Beyond that, you’ll be a key member of a small finance team that covers everything from close to forecasting to systems, and you’ll take on whatever the business needs most. We’re looking for a strong all-around accountant who is smart, hungry, hands-on, and who wants broader responsibility in a fast-moving company, not a specialist. This is not a technical accounting or head-of-revenue role. What You’ll Do:- Prepare and issue customer invoices from contract terms, POs, and usage data; own the billing calendar.- Own AR — cash application, collections, customer billing questions, and monthly aging/DSO reporting.- Read contracts and SOWs, understand the billing mechanics, and translate them into billing and revenue schedules — flagging anything unusual for review.- Run monthly revenue recognition, including deferred and unbilled revenue schedules, entries, and reconciliations.- Maintain the revenue forecast by customer and revenue stream and explain variances.- Support the monthly close across the P&L and balance sheet — reconciliations, accruals, flux analysis — and back up teammates on AP and other areas.- Help with budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A analysis for leadership and the board.- Support financial statement and statutory audits, tax filings, and diligence requests.- Improve how we work: spot manual, messy processes and make them faster, cleaner, and more automated, including with AI tools.- Take on ad hoc finance and operations projects as priorities shift — in a company our size, everyone pitches in. What You’ll Bring:- 3–6 years of accounting experience with hands-on billing and AR, plus exposure to close, reporting, or FP&A; strong Senior Accountant level.- Working knowledge of ASC 606 — comfortable managing deferred/unbilled revenue and monthly rev rec for multi-element contracts.- Able to interpret contracts and SOWs and know when something needs to be escalated.- Startup or scale-up experience strongly preferred — you’ve worn multiple hats and done billing, revenue, close, and random finance projects in a smaller company.- Strong Excel skills and a systems and process mindset; you instinctively want to fix and automate what’s manual.- Happy doing the day-to-day work — getting invoices out, chasing payments, untangling billing issues — and taking pride in doing it well.- Self-directed, reliable on deadlines, and comfortable working directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
