We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to provide expert advice and support in the administration and management of payroll processes, reporting directly to the Controller. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, optimizing payroll operations, and implementing best practices to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy. You will partner closely with internal teams and external vendors. Ultimately, this role will ensure seamless payroll operations and support the Brightside’s strategic goals.
What you’ll be doing as Payroll Manager:
- Process and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Provide expert advice and support on payroll-related matters to HR, finance, and other internal teams.
- Analyze and resolve complex payroll issues and discrepancies, offering solutions and recommendations.
- Ensure seamless integration between payroll systems and other HR and financial systems.
- Ensure the year end 1099s and W-2s are correct as well as the tax reports generated by the payroll processing vendor.
- Maintain and set up company state withholding accounts, unemployment accounts and local taxes in new localities and states.
- Maintain excellent and prompt communications with providers in email communications.
- Conduct regular system audits and evaluations to ensure data integrity and system performance.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports and analyses to management, highlighting key metrics and trends.
- Support audits and inspections by providing necessary documentation and information.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll administration, consulting, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, software, and processes (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP).
- In-depth understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and data analysis tools.
