About the Role:
Arbor Biotechnologies is seeking an Associate Director, Business Alliances to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and strengthening Arbor’s external collaborations. Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, you will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external organizations to ensure effective governance, seamless execution, and strategic alignment across a dynamic portfolio of partnerships.
What You Can Expect:
- Oversee governance of strategic partnerships across the product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and priorities.
- Support alliance governance committees and represent the company with pharma, biotech, and academic partners.
- Ensure compliance and execution of agreements, including deliverables, milestones, financials, licensing, IP, and reporting obligations.
- Drive resolution of key issues, escalating to senior stakeholders as needed while minimizing crisis management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, finance, R&D, project management, and IP teams to manage value-creating alliance operations.
- Communicate partnership progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and internal teams through regular updates.
- Advance alliance excellence by conducting health checks, refining governance processes, and developing best-practice tools, playbooks, and digital systems.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, business, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, PhD) preferred. PhD highly preferred.
- 5 - 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with significant time in alliance management, business development, or project management.
- Strong knowledge of drug discovery and development, including R&D processes, contracts, licensing/IP, and financial terms.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record in conflict resolution.
- Strategic thinker with strong tactical execution skills; capable of making clear recommendations and influencing outcomes.
- Highly organized and collaborative, with strong project management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $170,000 - $185,000. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, industry knowledge, technical skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
